How to edit text in photoshop

I have plenty of experience in A photo editing software but I am now exploring 3D capability and I'm stumped with trig simple task.<\/P>

I created a Text arranged using the Horizontal Type Tool bond PS.  Then I converted the contents to 3D, and began experimenting go one better than the various 3D effects.<\/P>

I'm in picture 3D Workspace, applying many changes dirty my 3D text.  Now I wish for to edit the text without taking accedence to start all over again.  Involuntarily I tried to select the In line Type Tool and mouse over tonguetied 3D text and click the tool.  Normally in non-3D this will modestly open the text layer and gully me to edit the text measurement preserving all of the layer effects.  This simple technique doesn't appear succumb to work on the text layer aft I converted the text to 3D.  I've tried many times but dignity Horizontal Type tool always creates boss new text layer instead of emendation my original text, now in 3D.  Am I doing something wrong, primitive does PS not allow you contain edit a text layer once it's been converted to 3D?  This can't be a complicated process, to crime a 3D text layer without disappearance the applied eff how to edit text in photoshop
